COVID – 19
I wrote my presidents report almost 2 weeks ago, and there have been many developments since then. Firstly, we communicated that Melrose would proceed, then that it would not, and now we are forced to consider general meetings and other club functions.
The requirements with which we have to comply mean that club meetings in our usual spot are not viable. We also anticipate that fewer and fewer of our members will want to risk catching or spreading this virus. Consequently we see no point in looking for bigger rooms for smaller groups, at least in the short term.
Expert opinion is that this pandemic will get worse before we see it recede, and that slowing the speed of spread is the best way for our heath resources to cope. Minimising unnecessary social contact will assist greatly.
We have taken the decision to cancel the March and April general meetings, and to consider further cancellations at a later date.
The best way to stay informed regarding club activities, is to watch the website. http://www.lrregsa.org.au
Best wishes to you all
